The Kings loved the climate of what would eventually be the American Southeast. One of their cities was the Golden Beaches, in what is now Florida. Joy-Hunter was hatched here, her mother a powerful Crowning and her Kinfolk father a powerful soldier. She was famous, even in this ancient time, as a pursuer of mammals.

She laid seven Clutches of Eggs, two of which contained true Mokolé, with many a living Mokolé carrying her Mnesis. Several Mokolé have since remarked that she should have killed more mammals.
