In Chinese culture, joss is luck or fortune, although not in the sense of random chance. Rather, joss is the result of the whims of the gods, and bad joss may result from the anger of Heaven.[1]
Some Chinese mages, such as the Wu Lung, equate joss to the Sphere of Entropy.[2] All dhampyrs are touched by joss, which results in both blessings and constant upheaval.[3] The Wu T'ian mummies are protected by joss while their souls journey before the Eight Immortals.[4]
