The Jharana are a Daeva Bloodline dedicated to the God-Machine and furthering its plans. The Menders are dangerously devoted to their cause, as they were all Stigmatics before being Embraced, considering it a way to serve their master for thousands of years to come. They supposedly receive information from the God-Machine through both its angels and a unique Discipline, Dead Signal.

The Jharana are primarily members of the Holy Engineers. Some enjoy the finer things in the Invictus, or fight for freedom in the Carthian Movement, but for the most part, their devotion to the Machine is nearly all-compassing.

History[]

At least three origins have been proposed for the Jharana. All are contradictory, but all involve the God-Machine in some form or another.

  • The Jharana may be the eyes and ears of an angel resting under Uluru, part of a sleeping network that the creature might one day activate.
  • After the Deva Corporation returned Packet Theta from the moon, a strange, fossilized insect escaped the transport unit, and burrowed into a Stigmatic woman's body, creating a new form of servant for the Machine.
  • The Jharana are a mistake, whether a glitch or angelic error. They aren't part of any grand scheme, and if proven, this information could be extremely harmful.

Bane[]

The Jharana suffer the Omen Curse. Unlike their Daeva cousins, the Menders do not become infatuated with mortal victims. Instead, they gain a morbid obsession, and start to imagine signs of the mortal's significance in the God-Machine's grand plans. Sometimes, this even attracts the Machine's attention.

Dead Signal[]

Eschewing their clan's gift of Majesty, the Jharana practice Dead Signal, a Discipline that helps the bloodline fit their victims better into their god's designs.
