The Intiimallki are one of the four Suyu of the Teomallki, the South American immortals most commonly considered a kind of mummy.
Overview[]
The Intimallki were created to protect their people, but in the face of the European invasion, they were unable to do so: they were uniquely vulnerable to their enemy's steel weapons, and when the majority of the Chaskimallki sacrificed themselves for a failed ritual, the Intimallki were left hopelessly outnumbered.
However, this suyu also worked out the new Spell of Going Westward that allows the Teomallki to resurrect alongside a modern soul. This was motivated by the Intimallkis' desperate need for revenge. Consequently, they often join with mortals who have died violently, and may even seek revenge on the responsible parties before seeking out an amawta to complete the Spell of Going Westward. The illi cannot enter the host without permission, but once it does so it tends to dominate the new Teomallki's personality. Consequently, many Intimallki make no attempt to continue their old lives, but rather move on to something new.
Purpose and Liability[]
As they were originally created from sun-dried corpses, the Intimallki draw strength from the sun and become weaker at night. In gameplay terms, they can decrease the difficulty of most rolls by one during the day, but the difficulty increases by one at night.
Organization[]
Intimallki often struggle to relate to mortals and the modern world, and thus tend to form cabals of fellow Intimallki.
