During the Albertan Reformation of 1851, the Artificers of the Order of Reason were reforged as the International Brotherhood of Mechanicians. The new Convention joined the League of Constructors political bloc.
This lasted until the Victorian Reformation of 1897. Earlier in the year, the Brotherhood's experiments on Autochthonia bore fruit when their recursive sentience-expanding algorithm achieved awareness at the χth iteration. At the Reformation, the League of Constructors became a new Convention. While merging with parts of the Guild of Analytical Reckoners and Guild of Electrodyne Engineers, the Brotherhood formed the core, and renamed the Convention Iteration X in honor of their achievement.
