The Iltani are an ancient Mekhet bloodline, purported to originate in Babylonia.
The founder of the bloodline, Nanshe Iltani, resented the En Isiratuu for stealing away her lover and her ex-lover for going with him willingly. She learned the art of Mérges sorcery, which allowed her to quite literally distill her hatred into a deadly poison, and tricked her ex-lover into administering it to the En. The poison, the modern En claim, weakened Isiratuu enough that the Edimmu were able to consume him. Nothing more is known about Nanshe Iltani.
Modern Iltani are rare, and many Kindred believe the bloodline has died out. Through Mérges sorcery, they are able to refine their negative emotions into potent poisons, but joining the bloodline requires a demonstration of both potent rage and iron self-control. Despite being in a constant state of simmering anger, Iltani never appear anything but calm and composed unless they choose to do so. And by that point, it may already be too late.
