IkThazai

The Ik-Thazai is a type of lesser Dragon, a bygone creature.

Overview[]

Ik-Thazai, the One Who Coils in the Deep, ravaged the lands of Mythic Europe during the Age of Fable. Accounts agree that she was willful, prone to impulse and greedy beyond description for power, praise and Quintessence. As magick left the world, Ik-Thazai retreated into hibernation and finally left Gaia for a Shard Realm in the Near Umbra.

Like most Mythic Remnants, Ik-Thazai detests exile and occasionally aids Marauders in return for temporary passage to Earth. During these travels she seeks powerful Nodes and devours all the Tass and Quintessence she can find; the more she eats, the longer this thaumivore can remain here. She has made attempts to capture the Nodes of powerful Chantries, which does not endear her to the mages who live there.

Reports show that the dragon can assume human form, breathe devastating flame, fly and command all nearby reptiles. Although intelligent, she is unsophisticated and exceedingly unfamiliar with the modern world. Her only long-term contacts have been Mad Ones and Hermetic mages, though she once met a Void Engineer ship. Neither party escaped unscathed. She has carried a grudge against such "spoilsports" ever since.

In human form, a short, beautiful Slavic woman, often named "Varvara," with long black hair and green eyes. In dragon form, a sinuous black, gold and blue monstrosity some 45' long, with membranous wings and a blue-black mane running from her head across her back.

Notes: First Edition: Ik-Thazai, the One Who Coils in the Deep, ravaged the lands of Eastern Europe during the fabled Mythic Age. As magick left the world, she was forced into longer and longer periods of sleep, and finally left Gaia altogether. Now she dwells in a Shard Realm in the Near Umbra. Ik-Thazai detests her exile, and occasionally aids the Marauders' insane schemes in return for temporary passage to the realm of her youth (she can only remain on Earth for a few days at a time, or her Quintessence drains from her and she sickens).
Ik-Thazai can remain in the physical world for longer periods of time of she has access to a powerful Node to "recharge" her Quintessence. If she could usurp one of sufficient strength (such as one belonging to a powerful Chantry), she could theoretically remain in the world indefinitely. She desires nothing so much as this.
Ik-Thazai can utilize her Spheres for a variety of draconian effects. She can transform herself into human form, breathe gouts of devastating flame, fly and command all nearby reptiles.
