The Hunt is an umbrella term for the various activities that Hunters undertake after their Imbuing or the awakening of their Drive that contributes to the location and neutralization of their quarry. While 'the Hunt' is used to refer more broadly to the overall activities of Hunters, 'a Hunt' is also used to refer to a specific operation or the pursuit of an individual quarry. Also known as the 'Most Dangerous Game' or MDG.
Overview[]
'The Hunt,' despite the undertones of the term, can have a various of both intended and actual outcomes, not all of which are violent. Certain Imbued also choose to not go on the Hunt at all when possible for similar reasons: Innocents, Redeemers and certain Judges and Visionaries have been known to avoid the Hunt, and Entrepreneurial and especially Inquisitive Hunters often try to avoid bloodshed on the Hunt as much as possible.
Hunters with more considerate Drives, as well as most Redeemers and Judges, often give the quarry a chance to demonstrate some level of humanity and a willingness to coexist with humans instead of killing it on sight, and Visionaries, Inquisitives and Innocents are known to simply observe would-be quarries after locating them, for a chance to better study the enemy in the hopes of finding a more far-reaching solution than simply killing until they themselves die.
