Higgins is a being stalking John Bennings, a patient at Bishopsgate Mental Asylum, following the death of "the Beautiful Lady".
Overview[]
Little concrete information is known regarding this being, bar that he bears antipathy toward Bennings and that as time passes, he grows ever more monstrous in appearance. As with many characters in World of Darkness: Asylum, the authors provide a number of possible explanations for Higgins’s nature.
- Option One: Higgins is a Promethean seeking vengeance for the death of Jane Doe, whom he created on his path to the New Dawn. Bennings has not fallen into Disquiet due to Higgins’s use of his powers, likely from Disquietism, to prevent it. If this is the case, Higgins is a Galatea who has fallen onto the path of the Centimani, since the creation of a Promethean is of the same Lineage.
- Option Two: Higgins is the newest body of the Akathartos that once had worn Jane Doe’s body. The being is taunting Bennings while preparing to kill and consume him.
- Option Three: Higgins is a mere hallucination caused by Bennings’s paranoid schizophrenia. He continues to appear even at Bishopsgate because Bennings is highly resistant to the drugs the institution is using to treat him.
