Haoa Flint Station is a facility on Luna's far side near the Mare Ingenii.
Overview[]
Layout[]
Haoa Flint Station was named for a minor hero of the Aberrant War. Constructed in the 2080s by the United Nations as a headquarters for CINCSPACLUN, the station resembles a tiered layer cake. The top tier consists of communications, sensor, and defensive placements; the second tier is a docking facility. The third tier, below ground, is divided into eight radial sectors around a core of shared facilities, with four concentric rings of rooms lettered A-D.
Despite the size of the facility, there's a lot crammed inside, leading to narrow corridors and cramped spaces. People come to Haoa Flint because it's isolated and secure, not because it's comfortable.
History[]
The station's design and placement was based on threat assessments of the time, which assumed the primary danger was direct attack from Earth. It was constructed on a fairly limited budget, with the remote location serving as its primary defense.
The return of the Aberrants exposed Haoa Flint as completely unsuitable, and SPACLUN was relocated to Olympus. The facility stood empty until 2116, when the Aeon Trinity purchased it. They extensively upgraded and modernized the entire place, and used it as the headquarters for the original jumpship project; after the attack by the Colony, all jumpsuit-related work relocated to Orgotek's Mare Ingenii facility, and Haoa Flint was leased out to other organizations. The majority of the space is controlled by the Trinity or by one of the psi orders.
