Hades is the Dodekatheon's god of death and the Underworld.
Overview[]
Gray and dour Hades is transformed with joy for six months of the year, when his wife Persephone is with him. Springtime goddess she may be, but she is also just as devious as her husband, and the two of them have a rare and cherished love. But Persephone is bound to spend six months of the year with her mother, leaving Hades alone and miserable. During these times, he occasionally dallies with mortals to assuage his pain.
In the modern World, Hades is a bit typecast: commodities broker, tightwad uncle, aggressive IRS auditor, Mafia don. He is always trying to reclaim his wealth, whether it takes the form of souls who escaped the Underworld or precious metals and gems taken from the ground without his permission. He's also a bit salty about his planet being "demoted" by the IAU. When he takes a mortal lover, he's looking for someone who reminds him of his absent queen.
His Scions' mood swings are almost enough for a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. The abrupt transition from doom and gloom to hope and humor (even if its comes with morbid streak) can be startling. They commonly act as their father's agents in the World, rounding up his lost property in all its forms and advancing his agenda.
