Grout's Mansion is a building in the Hollywood hills belonging to the former Malkavian primogen, Alistair Grout. Reflecting his state of mind, the building is a large Victorian mazelike structure with nonsensical architecture, with chessboard-style black and white floor tiles throughout.
Unfortunately, the building was set on fire by Grünfeld Bach in an attempt to draw Grout out, shortly after Grout had already died.

Background Information[]
- The building exterior, and some elements of the interior, were inspired by the Winchester Mystery House, which is located in San Jose, north of Los Angeles. Note in particular the seven-storey spire, which collapsed in a 1906 earthquake. The interior contains staircases that lead nowhere, in addition to other bizarre features.
- An extensive "Malkavian Maze" section was added in the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch, based on beta screenshots, concept art, and rediscovered unused textures.[1]
- In the base game, "Disturbed and Twisted" plays (Track 10 from the VTM: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Score ) in the mansion's exterior. The Plus version of the Unofficial Patch changes this to the restored track "To Live Forever" (Track 12 from VTM: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: More Music from the Vault ). The restored track "Time Eternal" (not on any of the licensed albums) plays in the sunroom in the restored Malkavian Maze area. Otherwise Disturbed and Twisted -- and once the mansion catches fire, Disturbed and Twisted Combat -- continues playing throughout the mansion.
