Gorias is the Brujah Primogen of Marseilles, and formerly the leader of its Kindred population. He is the oldest known vampire in the city, and indeed one of the oldest in all of France.

Biography[]

According to rumors among local Kindred, Gorias, in his mortal life, was a heretic who kindled discontent against the Papacy based in nearby Avignon. He was embraced by Marius, the charismatic Idealist prince of Marseilles, who dreamed of making the city into a new Carthage. When Marius was killed by a plague unleashed by the Setites in the 1720s, his domain fell into chaos, and most of the Camarilla population fled; only a few fearless Brujah, led by Gorias, chose to stay and fight the incursion. Emerging victorious, he declared Marseilles a "Free Republic" independent of the Camarilla, with himself at the helm, and made it a center of Brujah activity and revolutionary agitation. When the Camarilla returned to France during the Bourbon Restoration, however, they also managed to conquer Marseilles, and Gorias was demoted to a mere Primogen.

By the end of the 20th Century, Gorias rarely appeared in public, preferring to act through younger members of his clan. From the shadows, he hardly bothered to conceal his aid to Anarch cells active in the region, through which he sought to overthrow the illegitimate power of the Hegemony and restore the republic.

Sometime after the discovery of SchreckNet by the NSA, the Second Inquisition destroyed most of the Vampire presence in Marseilles. Gorias's fate in these events is unknown.
