Gaius Marcellus was a 5th generation Ventrue, childe of Alexander.

Gaius was a young tribune in the Roman army. He was only 23 years old when got mortally wounded during the final assault on Carthage. The Ventrue commander Alexander was impressed by Gaius ability, intelligence and skills as an orator and a writer, so he embraced the tribune, keeping the Neonate by his side to record the events of war (a war he did not agree with).

After he left Rome, Gaius settled in Gaul (which would later become France) for a long time. There he embraced his first childe, Doran.
