Gafflings are one of the lowest ranks a spirit can have; most are not even fully sentient. Other spirits tend to view Gafflings in a similar way to how humans view animals and use them as messengers and representatives. Most gafflings welcome this kind of control and serve their masters faithfully. The higher the intelligence and self-awareness of a gaffling is, the more powerful is his master.
