Furies are an Archetype of Sin-Eater krewes. They center their practice around pursuing justice, and are perfectly willing to use violence as a means to their ends.
Furies are not solely composed of the Vengeful, and their idea of justice is transformative: they are as interested in addressing the social causes of crime, abuse and exploitation as they are in punishing individual perpetrators. Their rituals may resemble a Socratic dialogue or a morality play, allowing krewe members to explore the meaning justice and enabling them to make snap decisions in the heat of the moment. Martial practice is important but not central to their methods; they would prefer to talk things out, usually, but they're also perfectly capable of meeting violence with violence.
While Furies pursue justice for the dead, they also dream of an afterlife where true justice is done. The dead shouldn't merely be punished for their wrongdoings, but given a chance to understand and make amends for the harm they've done. They are conscious, however, that law and order is often subjective and contextual, as are punishments, and a truly just system would have to treat each life on a case-by-case basis.
Some Furies become more enamored with punishment than justice, and lose sight of their goals in a haze of violence. Others become too self-righteous about imposing their vision of a just afterlife on their community, turning it into a police state or worse. Other krewes are often wary of Furies, as much for their black-and-white outlook as their propensity for violence, and willingness to harass other Sin-Eaters over their practices and doctrine. While Furies may be useful when a situation comes to violence, they can easily wear out their welcome.
Fury krewes automatically know the ceremonies Ishtar’s Perfume (•), Skeleton Key (••), and Black Cat’s Crossing (•••)
