The Flame Court is one of the original five courts of the Quincunx, based in Hong Kong.

The Flame Court became home to a significant population of Kin-jin due to the presence of British and Portuguese trade in cities like Macau and Canton (Guangzhou). This also lead to the region's devastation in the Opium Wars in the first part of the nineteenth century. The Ancestor of the Flame Court at this time, Five Earthly Seasons, deliberately brought the Court to the brink of collapse to rid himself of attachments and become a bodhisattva. He abruptly abdicated his position in 1851, amid the Taiping Rebellion, causing a destructive scramble for power exacerbated by the meddling of the Blood Court. Eventually, the Flame Court was declared "collapsed," and Shanghai, Macau and Hong Kong remained important enclaves of Kindred power in the east.[1]

The return of Hong Kong to Chinese rule in 1997 lead to attempts by the Quincunx to re-establish their authority in Flame Court territory. Local wu such as the Righteous Devils of Kowloon, accustomed to co-existence with the Kindred and other shen, clashed hard with aggressive outside war wu such as the Victorious Whirlwinds over the future of the Court. The Flame Court also served as the foundation of the Great Leap Outward, an aggressive campaign of expansion into North America.[2]
