The Faithless were a coterie of Invictus who, in response to the heavily-religious reign of Archbishop St. John, took to promoting Enlightenment-based, scientific thinking, much to the Archbishop's fury; it was he who named them, denigrating them from the pulpit.
When St. John called them forth with the intent of executing them, the Faithless stepped forward with numerous allies, most particularly from the entirety of the Gallows Post. They proceeded to stake and kill the Archbishop and put one of their own, Paul Michael Hill, on the throne.
