Overview[]

SymbolHouseBalor

Even among the other Unseelie houses, few nobles give House Balor credit for subtlety or intrigue. Members of this society take advantage of that misconception to act as spies or assassins for the house. It is of course, true that most sidhe of this house do not appreciate the finer points of political maneuvering and diplomatic sleights-of-hand and so the Eyes recruit anyone they can find who seems to have the skills necessary to do the job. The Eyes of Balor master the arts of physical and chimerical disguise so that they can construct alternate personalities for themselves and act as "sleepers" in other houses. Because of their disabilities this usually means as members of House Dougal, where a physical infirmity will not seem odd, or House Eiluned where mental quirks seem common. It is incredibly hard to infiltrate House Gwydion but the ties between them and Dougal can serve as an "in."

Once in, the Eyes immerse themselves in their roles, hiding their Unseelie natures as well as they can and acting as loyal members of their assumed House. Some make regular reports to their superiors while others simply bide their time and observe everything around them, gaining the trust of their "friends." Eventually he or she will receive a message, by cantrip or other system, that tells them "It is time for the Eye to open," and then they will do whatever it is they have been assigned to do. This often consists of assassination or stealing a piece of information or treasure. Other times they are just supposed to cause as much disruption in their freehold as possible when opportunities arise.

The head of the Eyes of Balor is Lady Eithlinn of the Gleaming Eyes who receives information from her agents and orchestrates the order's actions from here freehold hidden in the Kingdom of Apples, not far from Tara-Nar, eagerly serving Discordia.
