Eva is a Tremere in exile from the Pyramid, attempting to redeem her past actions while in hiding in LA. Her haven is somewhere in Griffith Park, meeting with those who come to see her at the Griffith Observatory. She was gifted a domain by Isaac Abrams, in exchange for performing blood magic on his behalf when needed.

Biography[]

Born Evangeline Mary Watson[1] in 1947, Evangeline grew up in a time of change and revolution. After high school, she changed her name to Evangeline Dawn as an indication that she wanted to help be a ray of sunlight, a beacon of hope to many in need, and joined the Peace Corps

In 1965 at the age of 18, she went with the Peace Corps to the Dominican Republic, and experienced the breakout of war. Her experiences there led to her strong sense of independence and ethics independent of any government. One of her fellow recruits there introduced her to the right-hand path of Wicca, and she returned to the US in 1968. In 1969, her Wiccan friends suggested they attend Woodstock and do Tarot readings and blessings for the assembled.

Eva attended Woodstock at which she met and fell in love with Katya, a Tremere. Katya Embraced her on August 17. During their relationship, Katya gifted Eva a ring, while Eva gave Katya a crystal ball.

The two returned to Katya's chantry in New York, and spent about five years with Katya teaching Eva magics she was not supposed to know.

When they were finally caught, Katya's elder Maximillian Strauss punished them, separating the two lovers. Katya was sent to the Vienna Chantry, leaving Eva with the impression that she was dead. Eva was cursed such that her hair and flesh were unnaturally pale, even for a vampire.

Acting out against Strauss, he saw potential in her, and decided she needed "guidance." Strauss beat her mind and body until she was broken, employing Dominate on her regularly. In 1975, she took on the role of the chantry's punisher, torturing the chantry's initiates, doing to them what had been done to her. Each morning before resting, she'd stare at her reflection in the mirror, red, crimson, and cold.

She would hold on to the ring that Katya gave her using it to seek warmth and guidance, descending into a fantasy where Katya was still alive and communicating with her. As part of the fantasy, Eva had the ring engraved to herself on Katya's behalf, "My Crimson Petal."

Planning for weeks in advance, in 1985 Eva started a fire in the chantry's library. In the confusion, she slipped off to Strauss' chambers, and retrieved as many magical texts as she could grab, being injured by several wards in the process. She then departed for LA.

The journey was made gradually; during her travels she encountered Carna in Milwaukee.

In 1987, Eva arrived in LA, adorned in white, leaving behind the "Crimson Petal," and set herself up in Griffith Park. She vowed never again to engage in bloodshed, seeking holiness and penance. Due to extensive use of Dominate during her time with Strauss, her memories of that time are disjointed and fuzzy; a small blessing.

The park rangers would occasionally catch glimpses of her in saving lost hikers or other good deeds, and came to call her the "White Angel." For feeding purposes, Eva sought a relationship with a drug dealer named Tony, who would advertise "White Angel LSD," telling buyers that the drug would induce hallucinations of a beautiful angel dressed in white; they'd feel wiped out afterwards, but the experience was totally worth it.

Description

The "White Witch" makes her haven in Griffith Park, where she dwells in solitude. Eva claims membership in House Carna and opposes the Tremere who remain loyal to the Camarilla.

She is reluctant to speak about her mortal life or early Kindred years, alluding only to having reasons to hate and fear Maximilian Strauss. Whatever encounters they shared cursed her, draining her of color and turning her visage—including her hair, eyes, and skin—completely white.

Eva often performs blood magic at the request of Baron Abrams, perhaps in repayment of past debts. She first met the Valley Coterie when Abrams asked her to identify the clan lineage of a neonate Kindred, Annabelle. Since then, she has become deeply entwined with the Coterie's efforts to oppose Camarilla incursions in LA and has expressed what seems like genuine affection for the Nosferatu Jasper.
