Description[]
Erzulie is a triple goddess, presenting three faces depending on the situation and her whims: Freda, young and flirty; Dantò, motherly and protective; or Je Wouj, old and vicious. She dresses in pinks and reds, and embodies love and feminity in all its forms. She is sometimes associated with the Virgin Mary despite her pervasive sexuality, and is particularly protective of children and homosexuals.
In the modern World, Erzulie can be found as a sex worker, a stay-at-home mom, an activist, a cook, or a fashion designer. In all her incarnations, she wears three wedding rings, signifying her three husbands: Damballa, Ogoun, and Agwe. Her Scions have inherited her love of love, and are often (though not always) very sexually active — leading to some crowded and complex family tress.
