Disease is a set of Gifts specific to the Pure Tribes. These gifts are taught by disease-spirits.
The Fire-Touched believe that they are the only werewolves who can benefit from these Gifts, as others would sicken and die if they were to receive one of these gifts.
First Edition[]
Powers[]
- Fever Dreams: One can pass along a spiritual infection to a target.
- Virulent Rage: A Fire-Touched can infect another being with a portion of her Rage. When used on a werewolf, this Gift usually triggers Kuruth.
- Glorious Agony: The werewolf taints his own Essence with a spiritual malady that makes him stronger and deadlier. But the Fire-Touched must sacrifice his own regenerative powers to allow the disease to run its course.
- Lingering Bite: The werewolf's bite leaves festering, odious wounds in his target's flesh. These wounds heal extremely slowly, even for werewolves.
- Wasting Sickness : The horrific Gift allows the Fire-Touched to infect a target with a slow disease. The target sickens over a period of days, and, unless treated quickly and expertly, dies in less than a week.
Second Edition[]
Powers[]
- Festering Bite (Cunning): When wounds suppurate and flesh sickens, the prey finds neither solace nor respite upon escaping the hunter.
- Rancid Maw (Glory): The werewolf's jaws drip with venomous slime, and her breath is a billowing miasma of pestilential mist and fat, buzzing flies.
- Leper's Bell (Honor): The scent of sickness hangs heavy on the diseased, driving them apart from a society that fears the touch of their contagion.
- Rabid Fever (Purity): Fire stirs in the werewolf's veins and mind, afflicting her with feverish energy. The disease in her Essence burns through lesser sicknesses that would plague her flesh.
- Pox Cauldon (Wisdom): This Facet turns the Uratha's own body into a cauldron of churning, diseased Essence, vomiting forth new and ghastly infections.
