Deneb Osborne is a tenth generation Tremere Regent of the Hartford Chantry and is extremely skilled in Thaumaturgy.

Biography[]

A popular magician at the turn of the twentieth century, Deneb practiced his art in the most prominent galas of the United States. His talent for prestidigitation took him to the old continent where European audiences went wild for his tricks and his personality. A charming and intelligent man, his taste for illusion ultimately attracted the attention of his future sire, a young Warlock from a local Chantry who presented himself as one of his most staunch admirers. After a number of encounters and discussions, Deneb was offered the Embrace. He accepted without a moment's hesitation. Far from renouncing his calling, Osborne took advantage of the powers that his new condition offered to expand his activities. Having completed his tour of Europe, with the blessing of his Chantry, he returned to America with success and acclaim. He was rumored to have real magical powers and ended up joining the Barnum Circus, seeing the crowd as a cunning and discreet way to blend in while satisfying his Hunger.

His notoriety led him to meet one of his clan brothers John Reiss, who made him an offer he could not refuse: access to important occult knowledge in exchange for his loyalty. Drunk with curiosity, Deneb agreed to abandon his nomadic lifestyle for the protection of the Hartford Chantry. He faked his death by setting fire to the circus and left for Connecticut. His first years in the Hartford Chantry proved difficult, but Deneb endured. His insatiable thirst for knowledge and his respect for the hierarchy eventually opened the door to higher circles for him. His elders were quick to notice his abilities and mastery of power plays, to the point that he was regularly able to negotiate for new responsibilities.

Already on his way to a brilliant career, the Beckoning precipitated Deneb's rise as one of the last remaining key elements of Hartford after the departure of the elders. His experience and investment in Tremere affairs enabled him to claim the role of Regent, which he took on officially on 2015. From then on, he devoted himself to the Chantry's development and attempted to compensate for the disappearance of his fellow creatures by apprenticing new ones. It was after only a few months as the head of the Domain that he was contacted by Hazel Iversen, the new Prince of Boston. This Blue Blood, who had a fraught relationship with the previous Regent, sought to reconnect with Hartford and integrate the Warlocks into her Blood conservation project. Initially skeptical, Deneb came to view the Prince's proposal as an opportunity to spread his Chantry's know-how throughout the entire region.
