The Deluge, or Great Flood, was a gigantic flood sent by God that destroyed the First City of Enoch along with the "children of Seth".
Overview[]
According to the Book of Genesis, the deluge was a flood sent by God to wipe out all of humanity save for Noah and his family. The vampires of the Classic World of Darkness, however, possess a collection of ancient texts called the Book of Nod, which have presented a version where the Deluge was also prompted by the actions of Caine and his childer during their reign in the First City. According to the Book of Earthbound, the demons trapped in the Abyss thought that the flood was God's way of wiping the memories of the rebellion from humanity. It is possible that the flood was sent to achieve both objectives.
After the Deluge destroyed the First City, Caine went into exile but some of his childer survived God's punishment. With the passing of the ages, they became known as the "Antediluvians".
Trivia[]
- The Genesis flood narrative as a literal reading of Genesis dates the Great Flood to circa 2350 BCE.
- The Black Sea deluge hypothesis dates a plausible inspiration to circa 5600 BCE.
