The Decorous are individuals who have been infected by the dream-poison of the Pale Dowager.
Overview[]
Initially ordinary people, the Other warps their behaviors, causing them to throw aside their more "scandalous" tendencies. Additionally, the Decorous are drawn into increasing belligerence with the people around them, whom they suddenly see as improper.
Given their status as tools of a True Fae, it is perhaps unsurprising that these people regularly vanish into the Hedge, replaced by fetches.
Types[]
There are two notable types of Decorous: the carriers of the dream-poison, known as the matrons and patrons; and the Ensorcelled, called the chaperones.
The former are upstanding members of high society, who transfer the poison via socially-acceptable displays of affection, such as a hand-shake, a kiss to the cheek, or a pat of the hand.
The latter are individuals tasked with preventing scandalous behaviors. To that end, they are equipped with a variety of Contracts, such as Hearth Contracts wielded for the purpose of stymieing attempts at seduction.
