Daphne Clear is a Glass Walker ragabash living in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Biography[]
A computer specialist from a middle-class African American family in Georgia, Daphne graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1997 with a degree in computer science and worked successfully for several years before growing frustrated and philosophical—a strange melancholy that lasted for almost two years before her First Change.
Though not an original member of the Broad Brook Sept, Daphne married Linus Harrowman a prominent sept member, and her technical acumen provided valuable assistance to Broad Brook. She did, however, divorce Harrowman shortly before his death in 2019.
A talented administrator, computer programmer, and inventor, Ms. Clear is an old-school Glass Walker, focused on advanced technology and driven by a desire to demonstrate that Garou can be "humans plus," not just monsters haunting the woods.
She is the current CEO of GRC (short for Gaia Research Company) Media, a local environmental and corporate news agency that started out as a physical news outlet in the 1980s but degenerated into a two-bit content farm in the mid-2000s until Daphne breathed new life into it. some have called GRC's modern iteration a greenwashing racket, but Daphne defends it as an important source of environmental news.
Daphne possesses a pair of dobermans named Thivai and Abhor that she has spiritually conditioned into serving as unflinchingly loyal and ruthlessly efficient attack dogs. She also has a pistol-talisman capable of transforming half of an adult human into a spray of flowers in a single hit, and her glasses are tuned to aid with firearms targeting and can be used to see the Umbral projections of data, such as Wifi and Pattern Lines.
As Eater-of-Names reemerged in the Pioneer Valley in 2023, he and the Answering Tiger gradually manipulated Daphne into turning GRC Media's PR services towards providing a smokescreen for his servile companies, such as Everlite, Chemikon and Neo Albion. Eventually, the Broad Brook Garou intervened, infiltrating GRC Media and apprehending Daphne despite the Answering Tiger attempting to redirect them away from her with its powers of deception.
Depending on player choice, she was either killed in battle, banished from the Valley or captured and deprogrammed. With the latter, the pack explained to her that she had been tricked and offered her a spot on the team, which she accepted.
