Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands, and the fifth-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. For the real-world island of Crete see: Crete.

Ancient History[]

Crete was the home of the Minoan culture, one of the earliest European urban cultures with its capital of Knossos. The Children of Gaia were active here in the Minoan period, trying to teach peace and harmony to the humans.[1] The Toreador Antediluvian was also known to be present on Crete in this era, and supposedly Embraced the son of King Minos. When the young man lost control of his inner Beast, his father detained him in an elaborate underground maze, giving rise to the legend of the Minotaur.[2] The Minoan Mosaic also dates to this period.[3]

At some time during the Minoan period, the Baali Methuselah Nergal unearthed the demonic entity Namtaru and brought it to his haven deep under Knossos. This set off the Second Baali War, as all thirteen vampire clans united against the infernalists. The war only ended when Set and his childer, through sorcery, triggered the eruption of a volcano on the nearby island of Thera, which devastated much of Crete.[4]
