The cauldron has two functions, depending on the desire of the brewer. Its first power is to brew a potion that inspires warriors to great deeds. The second power is more insidious, making a powerful sleeping draught.

With an Intelligence + Kenning roll, with at least 3 successes, a brewer can make the first potion to give +1 to the Initiative roll of any imbiber; the warrior gains an additional +1 for every success over three the brewer has. The second power also requires an Intelligence + Kenning roll with a minimum of three successes. Anyone who drinks this second draught loses one die roll's worth of health levels per turn, with no Stamina roll allowed. Eventually, even the stoutest warrior will fall unconscious (though they may have time to take an action before succumbing to the potion). Such a potion could aid in healing or cause great suffering.
