In the wake of the fire and death left in the Sabbat's passing in their holy war on the Antediluvians, many Cainites find it difficult to uphold the effort and still cling to the ideals that satisfied them as mortals. Nonetheless, completely abandoning morality forfeits one's soul to the Beast, which no Sabbat is willing to do. Steeling themselves against the monstrous aspect of their dual natures, the Sabbat have developed these codes of morality to keep them in touch with the [[Vampire|Curse of Caine]].
