Breath-Drinking is detailed in VTR: Mythologies
, a book to address several classic legends and rumors about vampires and how they relate to White Wolf's Kindred. It is a discipline that allows Kindred to gain Vitae, by drinking people's breath, as opposed to directly drinking their blood. It is associated with no clan, covenant, or bloodline, allowing any vampire to learn it at out-of-clan cost, provided they can discover the secret art through experimentation, or find someone to teach them.
Breath-Drinking has some unique limitations; it cannot be done at all below Blood Potency 3, and the amount of breath that can be taken from a target is dependent on the vampire's Blood Potency.
Those with knowledge of Breath-Drinking can also purchase a merit to apply that knowledge to gaining sustenance from livers, which is a much simpler, but significantly less delicate task.
