Book of Lost Houses: The Second Coming is a sourcebook for Changeling: The Dreaming. It deals with the Second Resurgance and the arrival of five new Sidhe houses freed from Arcadia.

Summary[]

Old Dreams Die

The dreams of Concordia lie broken in the wake of the High King's disappearance. For commoner and noble fae alike, anarchy spreads across the land and threatens the very changeling world. Yet those who believe that the worst has transpired now recognize a new threat: The gates of Arcadia swing wide once again.

New Nightmares Begin

The five sidhe houses left behind in Arcadia return to the mortal world and find a war-torn land ripe for conquest. The Book of Lost Houses explores the repercussions of the Second Resurgence as a new wave of noble fae burst onto the scene, ready to take their places as saviors or overlords. Nothing remains the same.

Contents[]

Introduction[]

House Beaumayn: Crusaders by Destiny Doomed[]

Presents a tragic tale of a house divided, betrayed and imprisoned in Arcadia, forced to sit in idleness while great changes took place around it. Finally allowed enough freedom to leave the homeland of the fae, these warriors and prophets have returned with a vengeance, bringing with them a passionate belief that strikes terror into the harts of those who learn their secrets.

House Aesin: Guardians of the North[]

Describes the fae of the icy northern lands. Before the Shattering, these lofty nobles of Scandinavia ruled a world of harsh beauty and stark dreams. Now, though some have returned to their place of origin, others have found themselves cast into the midst of a Concordia at war.

House Daireann: Seasons of Blood[]

Details a house favored in war and knowledgeable in the ways of healing - and harming. Holding their enemies as close to their bosoms as their lovers, these hardy sidhe weigh the advantages and disadvantages of their new situation and work to place themselves in the best possible place to attain their goals.

House Varich: Patterns in Sunlight and Shadow[]

Tells the tale of nobles forced to leave not only their beloved motherland, but also the elemental spirits over whom they exercised power and from whom they drew their greatest devotion. The land of the firebird and the endless taiga now welcomes back its true rulers. Yet some members of this house now wander a troubled new land known as Concordia, searching for their own dreams of power and sovereignty.

House Scathach: Restless Shadows[]

Reveals the details of a house that calls into question the true meaning of nobility. The members' decision to remain behind when the other houses left the Autumn realms in the wake of the Shattering led them to mingle their fate with that of humanity, forging something more than human, less than sidhe. Now, however, other Scathach have returned from the Dreaming to confront members of their house whom they have not seen for centuries.
