The Book of Going Forth by Night is a sacred tome of the Followers of Set. Containing much of the lore of Set himself, it explains the nature of the Nine Gates of Wisdom, the paths that free both Kindred and kine from the illusions of the Aeons.
The Book is also the source of Akhu, the sorcery of the Followers of Set. Only a few instructions are included, but it does detail how to construct a blasphemy-shrine along with rituals central to the art. They include how to create consecrated copies of the Book itself; how to brew sacramental blood beer; how to "open the gate", which is the direct drawing of power from the dead to grant energy to the lector-priest.
