Boltzmann Station is an industrial center located a few hundred kilometers from Olympus, where several operatives of the Huang-Marr Biorg Project were active.

Overview[]

Mining operations in Boltzmann Crater were established during the Aberrant occupation of Olympus. This operation grew after the Exodus, and in 2120 Boltzmann is home to about 30,000 people. Its government, the Boltzmann Security Consortium, was established in 2071 to handle petty crime in the crater.[1] The BSC is not a signatory of the Lunar Unity Agreement; this gives the residents of Boltzmann Crater a great deal of independence from Olympus, for good or for ill.[2]

Boltzmann is accessible via LAMP, and the Boltzmann Industrial Launch System transfers large cargo loads into orbit and back using magnetic railguns.[1] Much of Boltzmann's underground infrastructure is built into lava tubes, geological relics of the Moon's more seismically active era, which has obviated the need for excavation.[3] One of these tubes contains Linma Telecom, a subsidiary of Orgotek working on improving and securing the OpNet.[4] Boltzmann is also home to Xuanzong Omnigenetics, a biotech research firm which sponsors many refugees from Earth living in Boltzmann.[5]

On the edge of Boltzmann crater is Alte Jerusalem, a complex founded by the syncretic Many Covenants religion in 2099. in 2105, the Lunar Rational Front unleashed biological agents on Alte Jerusalem, killing its inhabitants and requiring the entire complex to be quarantined.[5] By 2119, the Aesculapian Order had finished decontamination of Alte Jerusalem, with plans to convert it into a new clinic, dubbed the Covenants Clinic in honor of the fallen.[6] Most of the Covenants Clinic staff were trained in Port-au-Prince, and thus unconnected to the Basel-led Huang-Marr conspiracy,[7] with the exception of Serevitek Kriso, the clinic's second-in-command and a longtime friend of Dr. Jerzy Grabowski.[8]

Role in the Huang-Marr Conspiracy[]

Andromeda and Patrice Willoms, the owners of Linma Telecom, worked with Kriso on techniques to use Taint in the manufacture of carbon nanotubes. On March 5, 2120, an explosion in their facility killed a number of researchers and allowed Fiore, one of their captive Aberrants, to escape.[9] Fiore murdered a group of technicians in a residential sector before being run down by Dennis Feldman, Linma's head of security. To cover up the deaths, Feldman fabricated the existence of a cult worshipping the "Ancient Master," but this only brought more attention to the incident.[10]

The subsequent investigation led to a chaotic firefight within Linma's offices, involving Option-8 agents from Orgotek and another captive Aberrant, Anders Nash. In the end, the Willoms, Kriso and Nash escaped Luna, and agents from Proteus Division used the "Ancient Master" story to cover up events.[11]
