Black Queen was the title given to the leader of the Court of Ash. During the late 1500s, the individual bearing the title was a hawklike Render Beast.
She was beloved by her people and well known for her efforts to provide for the destitute within the freehold. All the same, however, under her reign, whispers circulated of a group of courtiers breaking off to form a fourth Court.
