A bhüta is a form of ghost that seeks a brand new life.
Overview[]
Unlike the majority of ghosts, a bhüta is not interested in either incorporeality or possession. Rather than ordinary methods of incarnation, the bhüta will hollow out the victim's body, destroying the internal spirit that inhabits it, before moving into the remains.
Unfortunately for the ghost, the body will inevitably reject it and begin to rot. Additionally, for the duration of the possession, the bhüta exists in a state of constant hunger and is driven to feed on human flesh and blood.
There are two means of stopping a bhüta. Firstly, it can be forced to move on if proper funerary rites are given by a member of the ghost's original culture. Secondly, like all ghosts, it will have an anchor, which, if destroyed, will force the ghost from the mortal world.
