The Babel Dossier is a top-secret collection of files curated by the Æon Society. It contains documents related to the Society, such as the journals of Whitley Styles, as well as research on "the eclectic and abstruse."[1]
The Dossier was established by Styles in the 1940s.[1] By 2007, the Dossier had been digitized, but was kept on a separate network unconnected to the OpNet. The point of access was described as "a prop from a vintage sci-fi movie" located in Aeon's Special Project Division but it had ample processing power.[2] Many of the documents relate to ordinary people showing nova-like abilities well before the official dawn of the Nova Age; at least some of these have been purged from all archives other than Babel.[3]
Margaret A. Mercer ran the Babel Dossier for most of her career with Æon, and when she denied access to someone, only a unanimous vote of the Æon Council could override her.[2][1] Members of Project Proteus frequently mourned their lack of direct access.[2]
The Babel Dossier is not mentioned by name in the Unity Age.
