Azazel is an angel-turned-demon whose fall came long after that of Lucifer and his ilk. He is primarily a demon of Pride.
Overview[]
“ | I'm not that kind of demon. | ” |
One of the Grigori, a group of angels who were chosen to guide humanity in the ways of justice, Azazel, along with his brethren, eventually became more and more embroiled in matters of flesh. Eventually, this preoccupation with the mortal world culminated in sexual relations with humans, something forbidden by God, in addition to granting them forbidden knowledge; Azazel in particular taught mankind to shape metals, the fundaments of war, and the use of weapons. As such, they were punished by being emasculated and having the wings torn from their backs. Meanwhile, their children and wives drowned in the Biblical Flood.
In the modern day, Azazel wanders the world, carrying swords forged of meteoric ore. He is generally unconcerned with the state of his surroundings, and does his best to avoid his fellow Grigori in his travels. He can be, with difficulty, killed, but will merely discorporate into the Inferno, reforming in twenty-four hours. All knowledge of the conflict is removed from the mind of both the demon and the ones who killed him, and all recordings thereof are also wiped clean. Though occultists may seek the fallen angel for his knowledge, Azazel cannot be summoned. Further, he can only be convinced to part with his knowledge by ritualistically binding him to service, a fate against which he would prefer death.

Weapons/Attacks:
Type | Damage | Range | Dice Pool | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|
Ego & Ire | 3L | — | 15 | See Demonic Aspects |
Demonic Aspects: Aura of Corruption, the Dragon’s Tongue, Keeper of Secrets, Lord of Lies and Sense of Sin
- Close to Hand: Unless they are drawn or a character knows to look for them, the Ego and Ire don’t draw attention and refuse to show up in any sort of security scan. By spending a point of Willpower, Azazel can summon the blades to himself. The only exception is if the blades are covered with blessed items or left upon consecrated ground.
- Questionable Morality: Azazel has no Morality rating. Roll 1 die to determine Azazel’s current Morality for any Vestment that has an effect based upon that trait.
- Unrepentant: Exorcism can’t drive the demon from Azazel because he is the demon. The ritual can still cause him harm; he suffers the usual lethal damage.
*Mastery: This indicates Azazel has an effective Specialty with every weapon and can apply the Unseen Sense Merit to any type of supernatural phenomenon.
