- A small Silicon Valley firm, Virtual Solutions, burns down by an electrical fire. 10 employees are killed. Arsonist investigators are confused how multiple fires could spring up at multiple points throughout the building. The CEO was reportedly attempting to develop virtual chat room to link the company's servers with an undisclosed server outside the US. The National Security Agency is showing up to consider new angles to the investigation.[3]

- The Red Question sends a missive to the Camarilla Justicars:"We have noted your response to our pursuit of liberty, independence, and free will for all members of the Cainite race. Tomorrow, you shall have our rebuttal.".[4]

- Nigerian officials deploy troops along the Nigerian/Niger border, for "security reasons." They deny any connection to the announcement of Operation Genesis, but state "we have a right to defend ourselves ... and keep our nation safe from any and all invaders, no matter how pleasant a mask they wear."[6]
