- Dominic LeTarry relates a confusing experience at his kung fu class, where he sparred with his sifu, and somehow managed to block sifu's punch without using his arms. Sifu invites him to a special class.[3]

- Project Utopia gives its final report on the state of the environment to the UN General Assembly. Team Tomorrow combines cleanup efforts with the introduction of the Zushima macrobe, a genetically engineered organism that will regulate further pollution. With the environment in better shape than at any time in the last hundred years, Utopian scientists estimate a sustainable level of pre-Industrial Revolution air and water quality by 2005.[4]

- The Democratic Party National Convention is held.[5]

- Director Thetis sends a private message to Director Justin J. Laragione. Thetis understands Laragione's reluctance, but the Aeon Society agrees with the plan. The plan is designated the Oswald Gambit, and involves sending Project Utopia Internal Affairs nova Maurice Lourté, codename U-Boat, into a meeting with the Aberrants and the Teragen claiming to want to defect. When the representatives show up, Team Tomorrow springs its trap.[6]

- The Trinity Council sends a message to all North American and European outposts, informing them of Project Rewrite. With the destruction of the OpNet, all outposts are authorized to commandeer all book and database libraries within their jurisdictions, to be shipped to Æon holding facilities. Information will be compiled and preserved, to be posted selectively if or when the OpNet is restored.[7]
- 2120
- August Delemont sends an OpMail to Montressor Clinic Head of Security Jakob Neihaus. Delemont warns of the Æon Trinity "fact-finding mission" and points out that the Æsculapian Order would not benefit from such enhanced scrutiny.[8]
