Archdemons are akathartoi whose powers are unquantifiably potent.[1] Though the table in the sourcebook Inferno places this term as a rank just above the "Infernal Noble"[2], the fact that it also notes Maeljin as archdemons seems to indicate that the term may be used for all demons above "Infernal Noble".[1]
Though it is unknown whether they are true lords of Hell or simply infernal beings that have come into great power, archdemons are inevitably famous, known by many names throughout many civilizations.[3] Beings of such power are incredibly difficult to summon, requiring both an area of suitable desecration and a ritual of hideous atrocity.[4]
