The Anubi act as soldiers on the street and commanders for other Kindred when Lupines and Anarchs make their attacks.

While many officers might sit in their havens as they instruct lesser vampires to do this job or that task, the Anubi are frontline commanders by Decker’s order. Most command a great deal of respect for their kills, trophies, and service to the domain.

Overview[]

The Anubi, named after the Egyptian god Anubis, guardian of the dead, are an elite combat force created by the renowned werewolf hunter Mark Decker to counter the Lupine threat in Milwaukee.

Highly trained and experienced, the Anubi are undoubtedly the most dangerous group in the city. While they may be outnumbered, few factions can face them directly. If the Anubi were to halt their patrols in the Far Lands, nothing would stop the Lupines from advancing deeper into Milwaukee. Thanks to their coordinated efforts, the Anubi maintain control over the roads leading into the city.

The Princes of the Camarilla have turned their attention to Milwaukee and its guardians, the Anubi, in search of a solution. Under the leadership of Milwaukee's Prince, Mark Decker, the Anubi stand out as the primary combat force against the Lupines within the Camarilla. Highly organized, well-equipped, and determined, they effectively counter each Lupine incursion into the city. Inspired by Milwaukee's model, other cities have begun adopting similar strategies, albeit with varying degrees of success.

The most successful Princes sought to recruit Gangrel whose loyalty was more aligned with the city than with their clan or formed groups composed of members from different clans, offering incentives such as money, special privileges, hunting rights, or boons. Even the legendary Anubi were forced to concede hunting grounds to younger Kindred after many of their members defected in the face of the Sabbat invasion of Milwaukee.

Decker undoubtedly abuses the Anubi’s purpose by using them against Milwaukee’s Kindred populace whenever a troublemaker needs to be made into an example.
