It was Anguo who trapped and burned down the reigning Ancestor, Ghost-Killer, who had become [[Akuma (KOTE)]] indulging in loathsome sacrifices to the [[Yama Queen]] Tou Mu. Angúo Chun is the leader of the Righteous Devils of Kowloon in Hong Kong and one of the contenders for the office of Ancestor for the Flame Court.

Biography

As a mortal, Chun had been part of the delegation that ceded Hong Kong to the British Empire. Not being able to live with his shame, Angúo Chun comitted suicide. His unclean death resulted in his rebirth as one of the Hungry Dead. Seeing it as a second chance to regain Hong Kong and rebuild the Flame Court of the Quincunx, Angúo Chun became a harvester of his court, tending to the mortal population. Ever paranoid, it was Chun that saw that the Ancestor of the Righteous Devils, Ghost-Killer, consorted with Tou Mu. Betraying him to a coven of akuma, Chun became the next leader of the Righteous Devils.

Despite having little love for the kin-jin, Angúo Chun knew that he would plan things carefully. Using the services of the heimin Lao Chi, Chun began to communicate with Robert Pedder, opening diplomatic talks between the two factions. Chun hoped to lull Pedder into a false sense of security to find the right moment to strike at him. When control over Hong Kong shifted in 1997, Chun instead found a new enemy: The Victorious Whirlwind, who had been send by the Quincunx to "liberate" the city. Disliking the crude methods of the Whirlwind, both parties clashed in secret wars against each other, contending for the chance to rebuild the Flame Court in their own image.
