Biography[]
Umbra: The Velvet Shadow
Altair is an older Garou who has spent much of his lifetime in the Umbra. His black coat is marked with strange battle scars from his many spirit battles. He requires visitors to pass a test of enigmas or grant a gift of knowledge to him before he will let them enter. Usually, the test of enigmas will be a riddle. It may have one answer, more than one answer or no answers. The gift must be important knowledge about the Umbra that the sept does not possess and could not discover easily. If a Garou possesses no knowledge and fails the test, Altair will send him on a quest through the Umbra to discover a vision of the Apocalypse. The Sept of the Stars is committed to learning the nature of the last days and the Seven signs.
If a Garou is foolish enough to attack Altair, he will discover that Altair is an Ahroun who is worthy of the nickname “Spirit Warrior”, He is a master of Kailindo, and his exposure to the Wyld energies have made Altair part spirit himself. Many blows will not affect him.
Rage Across the Heavens
Altair keeps his past to himself. Since his First Change he has aspired to gain as much knowledge of the stars as possible - an unusual goal for a born warrior. The founding of the Sept of the Stars gave him the perfect opportunity to fulfill his dream. Before joining the sept, his mastery of Kailindo led to his reputation for being largely made of spirit stuff. He encouraged that rumor so that many who would oppose him ended up reconsidering the wisdom of their decision. Her has now spent most of his life as a Garou in the Umbra, and shows no regret for leaving the physical realm behind.

Altair's Homid form is that of a man of indeterminate age between 30 and 50 in superior physical condition. In Crinos, Altair had a black coat streaked with gray fur that forms a pattern like the stars seen against a dark night sky. His Lupus form has the same black and gray fur and is larger than the average wolf. He has unnaturally bright eyes in all forms.
