Aila was a powerful Daughter of Haqim and an elder of 7th generation.
Biography[]
She was Embraced in Anatolia before the rise of the Ottomans. She is described as a beautiful woman with black hair. She fought in World War I and World War II, and it was was during the former (or, more precisely, in November 1918) that she met Lettow Kaminsky, the would-be Prince of Tucson. They became lovers, but their paths eventually drifted.
At some point of her unlife, probably after the WWII, Aila had a crisis: she started to question the ways of the Kindred, as well as her entire existence. Even Lettow could not bring her out of depression. This state of hers escalated up until the point where she was found by another Child of Haqim, Julian Sim, and his protégé, the Courier. Julian, seeing her catatonic state, attempted to diablerise Aila himself, but flinched at the last moment and encouraged the Courier to do it - which they obliged. As Julian stated during the final confrontation with Lettow, Aila was dead even before he found her, and that, apparently, vampires may have immortal bodies - but not immortal souls.
Trivia[]
- Quite a lot of Aila's memories that the Courier experiences are centered about aircrafts and flying in general.
- If the Courier passes an [INT + Academics] check during their first encounter with Lettow regarding Aila, it is revealed that she made quite an impact on a society of Kindred: her appearances can be traced from the Crusades to the Great War, and her lineage can be traced to Caine himself, through Caliph Elijah Ahmed (apparently, her Sire, since he is of 6th generation).
- The reason Julian chose Aila for his experiment is because she had a "unique set of experiences and skills."
- Kapriel, Gor Kanayan, and possibly the Caitiff, are a part of Aila's lineage.
