Addison Payne is the Ventrue Primogen of New York City.
Due to his broken physical form, Addison is accompanied by a devoted attendant who articulates his thoughts to the others.
Biography[]
In life, Payne was a ruthlessly brilliant political and economical theorist, a free market ideologue. But after exhausting every available medical procedure that could prolong his life, his fear of death drove him to explore all other measures at his disposal. Unlike many others who tried to find the key to immortality, he succeeded. A powerful Ventrue found him on his deathbed, his body broken down in nearly every way, and decided he was a mind worth preserving. As an ardent believer in the Traditions and Camarilla customs, he protects them with religious zeal, eternally grateful that they saved his life. His feverish, eloquent defense of the cult's established practices pleases the Ivory Tower leadership, who consistently include Payne's writing in their official messaging.
His contributions to Prince Hellene Panhard's agenda were significant, until he set his sights on seizing her title. Despite this, some Kindred question whether Payne is truly capable of making his own decisions or if he is just an empty shell puppeteered by an invisible hand. As a wealthy Ventrue, Payne is one of the many Blue Blood owners of the Circulatory System.
In 2024, a Circulatory System file revealed that despite his ownership of the Circulatory System, Addison is buying spiked blood from Reynard Cassel due to a rival Ventrue cutting off his supply. Following the destruction of the Elysium by hunter forces, Addison is hit directly by an explosive and is presumed destroyed.
