Abram is the Ventrue Prince of Canberra and one of the first vampires to settle in Australia.

Biography[]

Abram was part of a coterie of idealistic young vampires in 18th century Britain, along with Red Meg, Wid, Agaricus, Montague Lytton and Lumley. The six renounced the Jyhad and swore oaths of loyalty to one another before embarking on the journey to Australia with the First Fleet. However, their bonds were almost immediately tested by the grueling nine-month journey, and Abram increasingly sided with Lumley and Lytton against the other three.[1]

In 1790, Abram declared himself Prince of Sydney, which Meg regarded as a betrayal of their (or at least, her) ideals. He ruled peaceably until 1839, when he learned of the secret foundation of Melbourne. Encouraged by his advisor Sarrasine, Abram relocated to Melbourne and declared himself prince there as well, nominally co-ruling both cities for decades. Spooked by uprisings among mortal gold miners, Abram grew increasingly authoritarian, and eventually claimed praxis over all Australia. This finally unified Australia's vampires against him, and in 1879 he was driven out of power and into exile.[2]

In 1927, Abram reappeared and claimed Australia's new capital, Canberra, as his domain. He allows no other Kindred in the city and does not involve himself in the Jyhad or undead politics; Wid is the only other vampire he remains in contact with.[3][4][5]
