- Pepin of Italy lays siege to Venice, but is repelled thanks to the diseases from the local swamps and the quick removal of any channel markers or buoys within the city. The Giovani family is credited for their fervor in defending the city.[1]
- 949 Age of Aries. The Great Tribunal officially adopts the use of certámen to resolve conflicts.[2][3]
814 CE[]
- Death of Charlemagne and the dissolution of his empire.[2]
- 814-816: Pralix of House Tytalus travels the British Isles, collecting a number of non-Hermetic wizards to her side. They defeat the necromancer Dav'nalleous. In the wake of their success, Pralix proclaims them the "Order of Miscellany." They initially plan on confronting the Order of Hermes, but Master Trianoma convinces them to become a House instead.[2][3]
817 CE[]
- Lady Pralix' "Order of Miscellany" is accepted into the Order of Hermes as House Ex Miscellanea — an umbrella House for all the smaller Houses and those Hermetic magi who are not members of any House.[2][3][4]
