609KingsWay

609 King's Way was an address in the Hollywood Hills owned (or at least taken over by) the Tzimisce Andrei. While externally no different from other houses in the area -- other than foil covering the windows to block out sunlight, and the sound of flies -- the interior was far more grotesque.

The House[]

Skin and flesh lined the walls and ceilings, dripping with blood, seemingly kept alive in this state, a testament to Andrei's skill with Vicissitude. Protrusions of bone and sinew pierced the walls at irregular intervals. Fleshy experiments lay strewn around the kitchen area, and the house was full of a dozen of Andrei's szlachta.

Andrei filmed a snuff film in the house as a "test," not intending it to fall into the mortal hands of Death Mask Productions, who duplicated it. The victim of the film was torn apart by szlachta, although it's uncertain if she was eaten or used as raw materials to create more.

Compared to the rest of the house, the basement was kept more or less in its original state, with bare concrete and drywall, albeit covered in blood and the strewn viscera of other mortal victims. A passage had been dug through one wall leading into Hollywood's sewer system, allowing Andrei to send his szlachta into the sewers to prevent the Nosferatu from moving about freely.

Background Information[]

  • While there is a Kings Way (without the apostrophe) in the Hollywood Hills, it's a very small cul-de-sac, and in fact there's only two addresses on the street: 1710 Kings Way, and 1711 Kings Way (part of the Alexandrova School of Music, whose main entrance is on the neighboring Franklin St). Slightly south of it is N Kings Road, which winds through the hills before progressing into West Hollywood.
  • In addition to being an obvious solution to blocking out the sun for vampires, having tin foil covering the windows is a common solution to helping block out extreme heat, so this may not have been too notable to Andrei's neighbors, except for this use of tin foil being a somewhat less common solution among the wealthy, as in the Hollywood Hills area.
  • "Poinsettia" (Track 21 on VTM: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: More Music from the Vault ) plays upon arriving at King's Way in the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch. Once inside, "Dangerous Places" and "Dangerous Places Combat" (Tracks 15 and 4 on VTM: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: More Music from the Vault ) play throughout.
