- The Karroo Mining Colony achieves self-sufficiency just prior[1] to first contact with the Chromatics, who perform an unprovoked raid on the Colony.[2][3][4][5][6]
- Following the Chromatic raid, the Legions create the Seventh Legion, Phoenix Squadron, whose duty is to patrol space.[7][8]
- An ongoing civil trial takes place between MMI cameraman Joe Seinne and the Norça.[9]
- Warren Shaw's Retrospective covers China and the Earth Strike Ultimatum. Shaw wonders why China stood down: perhaps they were tired of the war, or in worse shape than they let on. Perhaps it was an act of simple humanity, or maybe another faction ordered the fusion platforms to stand down.[10]
- The UAN builds a terawatt laser designated "Tooci" to access Io's tremendous energy stores.[11]
- Warren Shaw's Retrospective describes the Qin discovery of other sentient life on Earth, both mammals like dolphins and whales and less "presentable" creatures like octopi.[12]
- David Watson of The Final Frontier covers Lunar slums. In the interests of public health and safety, the head of Beaulac Clinic, Dr. Jerzy Grabowski, advocates sealing up a "burrow" the moment the last paying resident moves out.[13]
- Banji Orbital Factory Beta-3 is constructed in Lunar orbit.[14]
- Executive orders from the FSA give the Blight Project a very conditional seal of approval.[15] By the end of the year, the Project is in full swing.[16]
- Thanks to the advent of the Chromatics, Lumen's Xenology Research budget begins increasing annually.[17]
- OBC's Profiles In Leadership details Susan N'gamba, mayor of the Karroo Mining Colony.[18]
February[]
- February 17: Repeating their findings of November 4, 2110 and July 12, 2112, Neptune Division announces that Triton Division still doesn't know the identity of the psions' mysterious benefactors, although the proxies' simultaneous "gestation" indicates some sort of trigger event.[19]
July[]
- July 16: Operation Abyss makes its final report regarding Chromatics, based partially on examination of the four corpses recovered during the raid on the Karroo Mining Colony.[6]
November[]
- November 21: Marking the end of decades of persecution of Christianity in China, the Chinese State Council stated it is lifting the restrictions on Roman Catholics in Asia. The announcement came after a power struggle between Minister of Noetic Affairs Rebecca Bue Li and elements of the conservative wing of the Chinese government. In her native Philippines, Bue Li was Catholic, although she has since left the Church.[20]
