Events[]

  • White Wolf Game Studio publishes Werewolf: The Wild West, a Storytelling game of historical horror.
  • Five Rings Publishing Group acquires the Rage CCG[1] and puts out release date of September 1997 (Later changed to December 1997) for Rage Second Edition. Developer Luke Peterschmidt promised that 70 percent of Apocalypse: Rage would still be playable under the new mechanics.[2]
Due to being bought out by Wizards of the Coast at the time[3], which ended up taxing FRPG's resources, it would be delayed until August 1998. This resulted in developing the mechanics even more, to the point it became a completely different game, which lead to breaking the promise made to old Rage fans about still being able to use old cards with the new game.[4] Over the next few months in 1998, FRPG compiled conversion notes and worked with fans to develop a system for using older cards with the new rules.[5]
  • White Wolf replaces Exile with Æon, a project that was outlined by Rob Hatch from 1995.[6]
